Hi guys! I got hot news for you all. The Amex Platinum card now comes in two new styles for the new year, 2022. This sounds super cool, right?! So let’s see what the new features they have added for their two new designs are.
Do you like to know what credit cards the wealthiest people in the USA use?
Well, I guess you are curious to know about it.
So in American Express, their Centurion Card is the world’s most prestigious credit card. It is usually called the Amex Black Card. It has been shrouded in mystery by American Express, giving it a high level of significance users’ minds.
The Centurion card is so exclusive that American Express won’t reveal all of the card’s features or tell you how to get one.
Amex Black Card
- Only the wealthiest people can join.
- To qualify, you must pay more than $25,000 each month on average for more than two years. Further, you must pay it off even before it is due.
- If you have a Platinum card, you will be able to enlist your card if you satisfy the conditions.
- You cannot apply for this card. Instead, the bank will invite you.
- And also, I’ve heard the annual price is ridiculous. It is around $5,000.
- There is a $10,000 initiation fee.
- The card is also not plastic, but rather a metal, which I presume is titanium.
So why do you think the majority of people use Amex cards?
1. They often provide higher benefits.
They give 2% to 3% discount at restaurants, supermarkets, and petrol stations. In addition, benefits like rental car insurance and extended warranties are also available through American Express. It is typically no hassle on refunds or replacements. So, although many other cards have caught up, you will receive a card that is most suited to your lifestyle.
2. No predetermined limit
Businesses and small businesses primarily use Amex cards. Another advantage of the scorecard is that there is no predetermined limit. Instead, their algorithm is designed to make a rapid determination about whether or not you’ll be able to repay that credit while you’re shopping.
So those are some of the reasons people use Amex credit cards.
How difficult is receiving a platinum American Express card, and how prestigious is it?
All American Express charge cards, whether Green, Gold, Preferred Gold Rewards, or Platinum, have the exact fundamental underwriting requirements. If you qualify for one, you may switch to any of them to pay the annual fee.
More about Charge Cards
- All charge cards are essentially a 45-day loan to the underwriting department.
- Further, it establishes your internal credit limit.
- The yearly cost pays for the card’s perks. Thus it makes no difference to the underwriting group. Because of the short duration, they are significantly safer for the lender than a traditional credit card. When the lender notices that you have not paid your entire sum when it is due, they will shut you down.
- There is no way to hide by paying only the minimum payment and faking it.
Eligible criteria for Charge Cards
- You’ll need an Experian Fico score of 700 or above.
- There should be no bankruptcy history.
- Six months to a year of experience with a prime lender.
- There must be no recent late payments in the previous year or two.
- It would help if you had a modest income level to qualify for an American Express charge card.
Suppose your credit score is on the verge of crossing the 700 mark. Several incidents where candidates got credit scores in the 600s, even as low as 643, have been approved. Then you might want to hold off until it does. You can be deemed to have excellent or above-average credit in this manner. In addition, paying off existing credit card debt, paying off a financial loan, and avoiding applying for new credit accounts are easy ways to improve your credit score.
So you must be thinking about whether you can have two Amex platinum cards.
Yes, you are allowed to hold two American Express Business Platinum Cards simultaneously. However, to qualify for the second welcome bonus, your account must be focused on avoiding Amex’s once-in-a-lifetime bonus cap.
Is it okay to have two Amex cards?
Customers can only have a total of 5 American Express credit cards open at any given time. This applies to personal and commercial credit cards, but not to charge cards. So if you already have 5 (or more) Amex credit cards, you’ll have a hard time being authorized for another.
Now let’s see some of the pros and cons of this American express platinum card.
- When you book flights and accommodations via American Express Travel, you may earn many points.
- The cost may be justified if you have many credits.
- All airport lounges are open to you.
- With registration, you will receive luxury travel advantages and elite status with Hilton and Marriott.
- The annual fee is relatively high.
- Maximizing statement credits requires time and effort, which may be impossible for some.
- The reward rate is just below average for a premium card when spending outside of travel.
What is the difference between this Amex black card and the Amex platinum card?
The American Express Black Card is not for the faint of heart. This card is specially designed for high-net-worth individuals. We can consider this as a member-only club. This implies you won’t be able to apply to join. However, you can obtain a Platinum card quickly if you fulfil its requirements. But to be authorized for the card, prospective cardholders must have a somewhat high income, albeit not as high as the Black Card.

Amex Platinum card now comes in two new styles
Amex Platinum card now comes in two new styles with many more offers for this new year. I believe these new two designs make you feel so happy. But, at the same time, you must be curious about their new features.
You can select abstract theme or floral themed from well known artists.
After January 20, 2022, new and current Amex Platinum cards in the United States will be able to pick between these two redesigns, one by each artist. If customers want, they can continue with the basic metal card. If you currently have a Platinum Card, you may switch to the new design by dialing the number on the back of your card or logging into your Amex account online. Your card number will remain the same, and any other Platinum cardholders on your account will be able to choose a different design as well.
American Express has partnership with renowned artists Julie Mehretu and Kehinde Wiley
If you want to apply for the Amex Platinum Card, you’ll soon have more design options. American Express has announced artistic partnerships with internationally renowned artists Julie Mehretu and Kehinde Wiley to redesign and develop new graphics for the famous Consumer Platinum Card.
The Studio Museum in Harlem (the Studio Museum) will also receive $1 million funding from the corporation to promote its work as a nexus for artists of African origin locally, regionally, and worldwide. Both Mehretu and Wiley took part in the Studio Museum’s Artists-in-Residence program early in their careers.
My opinion on these two platinum card designs.
I’m undecided when it comes to the Amex Platinum unique art designs. On the one hand, this appears to be a good idea.
These designs are one-of-a-kind and will spark conversation; after all, what card issuer wouldn’t want their card to be a talking point?
This will appeal to the demographic that Amex is targeting with the Platinum Card, and it may persuade some consumers to keep this card in their wallets.
On the other hand, this appears absurd from a reasonable standpoint:
When it comes to daily spending, the Amex Platinum isn’t competitive, and the only time I use it is for flight, where I get 5x points (the major reason I use the card is for the perks); no matter how attractive the card is, I won’t spend any more money on it.
I prefer Amex put more money into the card’s primary value offer than the actual card itself; it’s similar to when an airline works with a renowned chef and effectively writes them a cheque rather than investing in catering.
Sure, I’ll apply for one of these cards in January, but it won’t influence my decision to put money on the card.
Why should you apply for an Amex Platinum card?
The Platinum Card is a great choice if you travel frequently and want to be as comfortable as possible. The range of luxury benefits offered by this travel credit card is so wide that you can anticipate red carpet treatment everywhere you go. Meanwhile, the rewards rate for flights and hotels is also exceptional.
The differences between Amex Gold and Amex Platinum credit cards.
When comparing the American Express Gold Card vs. the American Express Platinum Card, the best option for you is totally dependent on the features you desire and how much you’re prepared to spend for them.
However, both are terrific travel credit cards that allow you to earn points that you can redeem for travel discounts through the Amex site. Even better, you can use Membership Rewards to transfer points to flights and hotels, as well as to purchase gift cards, souvenirs, and other items.
Which of these two credit cards is the most beneficial to your wallet?
Before you make a decision, research all of the perks each card provides, as well as the earning schemes and fees you’ll have to pay when you join up.
|American Express Platinum Card||American Express Gold Card|
|It comes with a slew of perks.
This includes up to $200 in yearly statement credits for certain hotels, access to airport lounges, and a Global Entry or TSA Precheck credit.
|It has a a lesser value package|
|Charge $550 annual fee with $695 yearly cost||It is with affordable annual cost of $250|
Consider how you’ll utilize the credits on these two cards and how much you’ll earn in rewards over time before deciding between them.
What is good? Amex Platinum or Chase Sapphire Reserve?
Around the $500 annual fee pricing range, the Platinum Card was frequently compared to other luxury travel cards such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and the Citi Prestige Card (currently unavailable for new applicants). However, despite Amex’s best efforts to elevate its flagship card with updated benefits, the Sapphire Reserve remains a strong rival due to its cheaper $550 annual cost. However, the both cards provide similar travel insurance.
The Sapphire Reserve card from Chase does not come with as many annual credits or airport lounge memberships as the Amex Platinum card does. Furthermore, the majority of the Reserve’s comparable benefits expire after the first year. However, your monthly TSA PreCheck/Global Entry application credit and Priority Pass Select membership will remain unchanged.
- On the plus side, the Sapphire Reserve’s yearly $300 travel credit is far more comprehensive than the Amex Platinum Card’s hotel and airline-specific credits.
- On the other hand, this card provides stronger and more flexible reward categories than the Amex Platinum.
For example, the 10X dining benefits on the Sapphire Reserve aren’t limited to the first six months, and booking hotels and auto rentals through the issuer site also get 10X points. In addition, with the Sapphire Reserve, you may also earn 3X points on all other qualified trips.
- One of the biggest reasons to consider the Sapphire Reserve is how well it combines with Chase’s other rewards cards (and at a lower cost).
- In addition, you’ll be able to use the points from your other Chase cards for everyday spending on the Reserve, which will give you a 50% redemption value increase.
Is American Express’s Platinum Card worthwhile?
It’s no surprise that American Express’s Platinum Card® is one of the most sought-after cards since it comes with a long number of perks. These perks will make your travel experience even better. You’ll get more value than the $695 yearly charge if you take advantage of all of the features. However, because this card is reserved for high-spenders, you’ll need to examine your travel patterns to see if you can afford to keep it year after year.

Is American Express’s Platinum Card the Right Choice for You?
The American Express Platinum Card offers premium travel benefits that might make your vacation even better. You’ll get access to some of the world’s best resorts, hotels, lounges, and experiences, as well as a range of statement credits for specific travel-related expenditures.
But make no mistake: you’ll need to invest a lot to get the most out of this card. While other premium rewards cards can help you save money on travel. However, the Platinum Card is designed to enhance your travel experiences rather than save you money.
If your frequent travel and leisure expenditures — as well as your budget — fall into the Platinum Card’s reward areas, the $695 annual cost is readily compensated by the credits and perks.
If you weren’t planning on spending money on those items anyway, these bonuses wouldn’t be as valuable, and they can even persuade you to spend more than you typically would.
So this is all about new American Express Platinum card designs. If you guys are interested, you can change your current Amexplatinum card design after January 2022. So keep in touch about the change. I hope this article makes you more excited to go with the new design.
