How to Save Money at Starbucks – Venti Iced Lattes for $1.95!

Must read

Starbucks is a one of my favorite places to study or work.  However, the coffee prices keep rising as gas prices keep soaring.  People are spending over $5 for a cup of coffee.  That is almost as much as a meal!  Here are several tips on how to save money at Starbucks:

Romsdeals’ Starbucks Drink:

Doppio Espresso in a Venti Cup with Ice.  This is basically a double shot of espresso over ice in a venti cup.  You then can go over to to the condiments counter and fill up your cup with your preferable amount of milk. This drink turns out to be $1.95.  A venti iced latte costs over $4.  Great deal! 🙂

Register your card for free drip coffee/tea refills.  You can register your starbucks gift card online to get this perk.  Note that they won’t refill an iced tea lemonade, but sometimes if they are nice they will.  Getting free coffee or tea refills can let you stay at Starbucks all day without anybody looking at you strange because you look like you did not buy a drink.

Buy a Starbucks Free Drink Coupon on eBay.  This is another way on how to save money at Starbucks.  People on eBay often sell free drink coupons where you can buy any customizable drink at Starbucks.  You can get a $6 Venti or Trenta drink at Starbucks for only $2.50 ($5 for two coupons). I often use this method to buy drinks at Starbucks.  When I feel like getting an even better deal, I bring my contigo cup and share a drink with the wife :).

Starbucks recently changed their loyalty program.  Now you can obtain a free drink or food item once you get 12 stars.  Be sure to make purchases separately because you get stars based on each transaction and not on each item.  The downside of the new update to the loyalty program is that there is no more free Soymilk or Syrup.  Sometimes, you can ask a worker for a shot or two of syrup after you make your latte mentioned above or other coffee drink.  I try not to do this much because it can be embarrassing ;).

Make your own coffee. I actually do not go to Starbucks very often because I like to make my own coffee.  At work I use the handy Clever Coffee Dripper and at home I have more fun and use an Aerobie AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker.  I will post reviews on these products in the next few days.  You can subscribe or follow me for some more tips on how to save money on coffee.
