American Express is back with their 30,000 SPG point bonus after spending $5,000 in 6 months for either the SPG Personal or Business cards. These American Express SPG Personal and Business 30K offers come around about once a year and it’s usually as high as the bonus will get.

I have applied for both AMEX SPG credit cards in the past, and even the personal version twice. However, AMEX is not allowing you to churn AMEX credit cards anymore. So if you haven’t gotten either one of the cards, it may be your first and last chance.
American Express SPG points are the most valuable points in the airline and hotel loyalty industry. I value the points at about 2.2 cents per point. The downside of SPG points is that you only earn 1X with the credit card unless you are staying at an SPG hotel. The signup bonus is the main reason for the credit card for me because I’d rather earn 2.22% cash back from the Barclaycard Arrival Plus. I think Barclaycard points are much more flexible than AMEX SPG because I can use Barclaycard points on my AirBnB or award ticket taxes. However if your main goal is to fly international business or first class, I think AMEX SPG is better because you can transfer AMEX SPG points to airline miles.
